How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with? All times are GMT Playing an Expert you're probably going to have a tough time and be terribly underpowered compared to the rest of the group.
Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] Carrion Hill The strange city of Carrion Hill has long loomed over the surrounding swamps in eastern Ustalav, yet its rulers have shifted many times through the centuries.
Often enough that only a few sinister scholars and curious minds know the true nature of the hill's original inhabitants - vile and depraved cultists of the Old Gods. Yet this morning, a dreadful recrudescence rises from the depths of the twisted alleys of the city, spreading panic before it and leaving destruction in its wake. Can the Carrion Hill Horror be stopped? What 'type' or variant of game will it be i. What is the setting for the game eg.
Lovecraftian horror game.
The setting is Golarion, the town of Carrion Hill in Ustalav specifically. How many Players are you looking for?
Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many? Four players. I will take on alternates if there is enough interest. What's the gaming medium OOTS, chat, e-mail etc. OOTS forums. What is the characters' starting status i. Level 5, 15, XP on the Medium Track. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with? Players will start with their standard wealth by level of 10, GP worth of gear. There are some caveats however.
You can spend no more than half of your wealth 5, gp on any one single item and you must spend at least gp on disposable magic items. I consider disposable magic items any item that has a finite number of uses or charges. Potions, scrolls, and wands are all good examples of disposable magic items as are many wondrous items that have a limited number of uses. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc.
No homebrewed classes. All official paizo classes and prestige classes are fair game. If your class has an Unchained version you must use the Unchained version. What races, subraces, species, etc. Will you allow homebrewed races or species?
All "Core Races" and "Featured Races" are available. If you want to be something fairly exotic, monstrous, or uncommon in Ustalav you need to have a good background reason why they're in Carrion Hill. Hit points are maximum at 1st level and high average after that. High average means take your hit die number 10 for a d10, 8 for a d8 and so forth half it so 5 for a d10, 4 for a d8 etc.
So "high average" for a d12 is 7, a d10 is 6, a d8 is 5 and a d6 is 4. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so? All alignments are available as long as your character is not disruptive to the party. This is a cooperative game so your character must be able to cooperate with a group. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it? Multiclassing is fine.
All the standard rules for multiclassing apply. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game?
Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them?
I'll roll for all of the NPC's and enemies as well as reactive rolls for the PC's perception checks, saving throws etc. PC's will make their own active checks such as swim checks or attack rolls themselves in a spoiler tag included in their post. If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules. Other than that your character can have 2 traits or three traits with a drawback.
Please try and make your drawback work for your character's personality and not just be a method of gaining 3 traits with as little of a penalty as possible. You cannot have more than one trait from each of the trait types Racial, Combat, Religion etc.
Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular i. Backgrounds are highly encouraged and necessary as I will be selecting players based on their quality of backstory. Try and describe your characters personality and aspirations in detail and come up with a reason to be in Carrion Hill. If people want to link their backstories together to explain why they're working together, that's fine. Otherwise the players will be first meeting when the mystery in Carrion Hill unfolds, which is also perfectly acceptable.
Role playing is foremost in all of my games. Pathfinder is a role playing game after all. This particular adventure focuses on investigative work just as much as it focuses on combat so character geared toward either, or both, will fit in well.
Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material?
What sources can Players use for their characters? Anything from the SRD that is from an official paizo source is good to go. You will be able to tell non-paizo content because it will have a "fan made" or "3rd party" indicator on the page. Last edited by Eldritch Horror; at Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] Posting interest.
I'll get a character concept and sheet down soon. Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] This is relevant to my interests. I won't have much time to work on a character tonight, but I have a concept in mind.
A native of Ustalav and an adherent of Besmara, having spent her days among pirates and very familiar with superstitions, until something shook her faith and she returned home for answers.
She'd provide a more intimate, philosophical attempt at understanding horrors, as opposed to an academic one, and hopefully provide stop people from stabbing each other in panic. I'm thinking a Cleric would work best. Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] Very interested!
I'd love to play an academic in a Lovecrafty game--maybe an Investigator or Archivist Bard. Contest Medals Spoiler. Gold, Villainous Competition IX. Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] Hazuki: Besmara you say? Ustalav is a little removed from typical pirate lands though I suppose there could be small pirate gangs prowling the waters of Lake Encarthan.
I'm intrigued to see what you come up with. Investiator and Archivist Bard are both very "Lovecrafty" hero types. Either one should fit in quite nicely. Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] Mark me down as interested in this.
I would like to play a Medium, if that's alright. Originally Posted by UrsusArctos. Mark me down as interested in this. Carrion Hill [Pathfinder] Count me interested. Not sure yet what I'll play. If you're not having fun, then you're not doing it right. Uploading the last chronicle I bought chainmail, that is an easy upgrade to do tomorrow before the game. Everything else stays the same. Aerine of Safe Haven. A larger version for a little clarity on what is Gnome and what is Mustache.
