Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I admit that I was first attracted to this book because of the cover. Good lord, that man is delicious.

Those eyes! That scruff! So, the cover attracted me but the synopsis completely sucked me in. How could I not read a book with a synopsis like that? My husband, who usually picks on me for always reading sexy books, even showed interest in Taint because of the synopsis. Once I started reading, I was instantly hooked. It was just as good as I knew it would be. I did feel like Justice fell for Ally a little too quickly and it felt a little rushed.

This was literally the only problem I had with the book and, after reading the whole thing, it made a little more sense. The characters in Taint were heartbreakingly beautiful.

They were easy to understand and super easy to fall in love with. The story itself This story was absolutely delicious. It was sexy and daring and full of heat. It was hard not to get turned on by the things that were happening to the characters and the things that they were doing.

The book also had a darkly tender side to it as well. Multiple times I found myself almost in tears by Justice. Usually, it's the female characters that tug at my heartstrings but not this time. I really liked Justice. Justice was sexy without all that and I found him extremely refreshing. In a world of Christian Grey-like characters, he was something new. Something fresh and better. Overall, Taint is amazing.

Everything about it was amazing and I would gladly read it again in the future. If you enjoy sexy stories that also break your heart, I definitely recommend this one. Justice Drake is the owner of an exclusive retreat that caters to women looking to put their marriages back on track.

Over the course of six weeks, he helps them to explore their sexuality, and how they can express it to their significant others in a way to keep them from straying outside the marriage.

He verses them in lingerie, seduction, stripping, fellatio, etc. Unfortunately when he eyes attendee Allison Elliot-Carr, all bets are off. Allison has only been married a couple of years but it seems her husband has never been able to keep it in his pants. Their marriage is more of a merger; it looks good on paper and is beneficial to the families involved, but there seems to be little actual love there.

Instead, the characters came across as angsty and incapable of making their own decisions. End it, and then get on with it. I think one of the things that bothered me most about this book, other than the false advertising, is the incredibly misogynistic air to it.

Drew, but Justice Drake is more Adam Carolla. This may seem silly, but what was with the big fixation on the ice cream? Give it up with the ice cream already! If I had to read one more scene describing the taste, texture or desire for ice cream, I was going to throw my kindle against the wall!

The words ice and cream together are referenced thirty-six times in the book. I have to say though, given all of the hype and the flood of five star reviews I was really disappointed.

For me, it had a lot of promise but fell short. Jennings but I will check out her others. We want you to consider this your home for the next six weeks of instruction. Can I sign up for this class just to watch Justice Drake every day?! Justice lives a quiet life.

No one really knows about him unless they are in need of his services. By that I mean, rich men send their wives there to teach them how to screw better. Sad, but true. He wasn't expecting one of those wives to knock him off his feet and make he rethink his whole lifestyle.

Enter Ally. He had his life on such a set schedule that he didn't even leave room for the possibility of love. When clearly you have made him a priority? Can she go back to a loveless marriage just because of their families names? Or can she take a chance on something out of the ordinary?

The Dark Light Series: The Complete Box Set. Fear of Falling: You will laugh, smile, fan yourself and fall in love with Justice Drake. The concept was original and delightful. I do wish we would have gotten more of an epilogue at the end, but I was happy with the way it ended. View all comments. I thought it was about an alpha male.

It wasn't. I had an issue with Justice Drake's sudden change in personality.. One of us is a professional. Otherwise, shut those powder-pink lips and look pretty. Taking care of disgusting, snotty-nosed spawn. My angel with a halo of fire. Against the bare walls and sparse furnishings, she looks out of place.

A woman like her should be surrounded by beauty, immersed in all things soft and gentle. With eyes the color of the ocean and her halo of fire burning as bright as the desert sun, she speaks to me. And while she is raw and sullied, tainted by this beautiful hell, her words breathe life into the darkest, loneliest parts of me.

Can someone please explain it to me? What is Jiminy Cricket doing there? Unless Allison's freckles cast a magical spell on him, I didn't get it For more reviews, Free E-books and Giveaways View all 85 comments.

Aug 22, Lisa rated it it was amazing Shelves: So I loved with an all consuming passion S. Jennings 's first contemporary romance, Fear of Falling , it was one of my favorite reads of and officially made me a devotee of hers.

Taint just made me her bitch for life and is one of my favorites reads of …are we noticing a trend here? As usual. I usually do when I love books as much as I loved this one! Justice Drake…umm…hello — I want to hump his name! A lot. Physically…yes, Justice is the definition of perfection in my eyes and I may or may not have the strong desire to lick him from head to toe…but Lord have mercy his personality is spot on for making me putty in his hands.

He was that perfect combination of charming but cocky, smooth and sexy, alluring but sincere. I love getting inside their head, understanding what makes them tic and then, of course, that moment when everything changes and the girl who is usually behind it….

I know my boundaries, and I never cross them. In a business where lines can be easily blurred, those boundaries are outlined in black Sharpie, traced in gasoline, then set the fuck on fire, ensuring that no one even gets close enough to inhale the fumes of temptation.

Yet, here I am, touching, tempting, tasting the limits. Begging to get burned by an angel with a halo of fire. It very much depicts who she is in my mind.

Unapologetic, quirky, funny, and genuine. I also felt her confliction because she knew that her actions might not exactly be pure but everything she was feeling with Justice was so real and intense. I just want to tell her…everything. Maybe we were friends in a past life. Or lovers. Deep down, man whore ways aside, job aside, past aside…Justice is a good guy. I personally loved it! He needs different…he craves different — he can have and has had just about any girl out there…none of them have held his attention like Ally did…why?

I want to breathe. I want to inhale her in every way possible. I want her life to sustain me, her heartbeat to synchronize with mine. A cheater. A deviant. An outcast.

I mean…Justice is walking sex to begin with…but hot damn! I was addicted. It was more that just sex…I keep going back to it but to me it was what made Justice and Ally, Justice and Ally. They got to know each other as individuals…really see each other for more than just what everyone perceives. And I know that meeting her, basking in her smiles and wanting her on me like a second skin has forever changed me. But can there ever be more? Can I spend every night counting her freckles, like I once counted the stars?

Can I replace my sunrise with the vision of her sleeping beside me, fiery hair, wild and tangled all over her face? Can I swim in those too-big turquoise eyes and drown myself in her laughter every night? I think the biggest question is, How can I not? I was compelled to read, never wanted to stop, was tortured when I had to stop…I was an obsessed woman hypnotized by this genius. I even loved the little details, like the chapter titles…something so small it can be easily overlooked some times but to me it was a build up…added to the anticipation of what was to come.

Jennings can write an amazing male POV. The blend of angst and sexiness with humor and emotion just totally got me.

The beginning of the end. The very start of the saddest goodbye in history. Because her light once filled it. She filled me in a way that nobody on this Earth could. View all 13 comments. View all 44 comments. That blurb?!?!?!?!?! View all 5 comments. Mar 21, Mollie rated it it was ok. Who is Justice Drake? Well, he's nothing like I expected. He's intriguing at first, but then gets depressing, like he's living in a bad mood.

He came off as monotone and brought me down and then I lost the connection. I didn't enjoy being in his head. Things turned up as soon as Ally became more prominent. She livens the book up with humor before the structure crumbles again. And you can figure what happens next, maybe even guess the ending too. I wasn't really impressed. The blurb led me to bel Who is Justice Drake?

The blurb led me to believe that he was more "hands-on" with his students and clearly he was not. That wasn't why I read it though. I thought the setting and everything representative of the main character his history and occupation was clever and something I had never read before—something that interested me—however, the story did not hold my interest as much as the blurb did.

I'm on the fence. It was okay but I probably won't think about it ever again. Still, I can see others really enjoying it. I've still not decided. View all 18 comments.

You know what i don't get? It's right there, we all read the fucker, that is the key reason we are scrolling down the page View all 41 comments. View all 7 comments. So I read the blurb on this and immediately I was all: See, I'm not much of a cover whore But I will absolutely read a book solely because I am in love with the blurb.

Jennings gets maximum points for the blurb on this one, even if it is slightly misleading. It's a promise and an omen, gift-wrapped in two little words. Drake runs and exclusive resort which caters to the richest and most fabulous trophy wives.

These wome So I read the blurb on this and immediately I was all: These women are sent to him by their philandering husbands in the hopes that Drake can turn them into sex kittens. Justice Drake takes these pampered housewives and teaches them how to walk, talk, dress, and suck dick. He reforms them into sexually confident women capable of keeping their husbands satisfied. These women just want to avoid a public scandal. Justice has the expertise and the gigantic ego needed to believe that he can turn these worthless fickle bitches into high-class sex dolls.

Hey, that's not my opinion of the women sent to him, it's his. Needless to say, I spent most of the book doing this: Sit there and shut, up honey. Now, if I need help making a fucking sandwich or getting red wine out of a linen tablecloth, I'll ask for your opinion. Because Justice Drake is one of the biggest self-absorbed assholes I've ever read. He has no tact and no empathy toward these women.

He broods, he's incredibly morose, and if he made one more reference to his mood being like the night sky I was going to beat him over the head with a stack of Emo records. He was born into the affluent lifestyle of his clients, but he fled that world for his desert sanctuary and sex-school. Oh, and he has a secret But I'm sure you'll figure out what that is WAY before the reveal Anyway, all these Alpha-Male asshole stereotypes have to meet that one woman who breaks the mold and seems to be immune to their charms Allison Elliot-Carr She and I are cut from the same cloth - misfits among millionaires.

She may have the money and the status, but she's faking it. She can't even be honest with herself, and that's why, as much as she intrigues me, she disgusts me just the same.

At least that's what I tell myself. Allison is one half of some kind of Kennedy-esque loveless marriage. Her husband Evan keeps getting caught in the tabloids with other women including her best friend so Ally was sent to Justice Drake and hopes that she can learn enough to keep her husbands dick at home, where it belongs. Years of betrayal in a sexless and sterile marriage have left Allison with very little self-confidence.

She is outspoken, goofy, and fairly awkward, so she doesn't really fin into the wealthy upper-crust she was born into. Believe it or not, sex with Justice Drake isn't in the curriculum for the six-week course - despite what the book blurb would have you believe.

He pushes these wives outside their comfort zone. He makes them watch live sex, study porn, use sex toys, etc. He doesn't even live in the mansion with all the horny housewives just to be safe. Not that he he isn't tempted By Allison especially So we know how that's gonna go Drake does extensive and invasive background checks on everyone who comes through the door of his Sex School, but he knows Allison Carr is special So let's break it down: I'll let you decide if you're up to the challenge.

For me, this was entertaining but it didn't live up to the expectations set forth by the badass book-blurb. View all 11 comments. There's no denying that there is appeal in who Justice tries to be and his job as a sex instructor especially with the story being told from his POV.

Justice is all business and that business is sex It's all kinds of awkward and uncomfortableness. It's almost as if you're one of his clients, shocked at the things he says and what he wants It's almost as if you're one of his clients, shocked at the things he says and what he wants you to do.

Allison, aka Ally, doesn't just follow the rest of the hens. She stands up for herself and calls Justice out on things. Sometimes that ends up with her storming off and him going after her or him not being happy with her and her coming to his house later. This then leads to some interesting encounters.

They attempt to just be friends because, of course, Ally is married I would have loved a chapter or two from her POV but we don't get that so we just get to hear what Ally means to Justice and it's bittersweet. But I loved the two choice questions, the ice cream and the "lobster". Naturally the steamy scenes are well, steamy and hecka delicious! He is a sex instructor for heaven's sake!! There are some things that Justice does that I just didn't care for, namely, "J" and "C".

When you read it, you'll know what I'm talking about. I mean, who wants to read that? Justice is hiding some things and Ally tries to get to the bottom of it especially since he knows everything about her.

Once the major drama was in play, it's not hard to figure out what the twist is and it's a goodie! My real problem is how things progress after that. The story is fractured and we only get pieces here and there and OMG, the ending?

That's all we get?? On a positive note, the news article did help a teeny, tiny bit. Ice cream is the answer for everything. I put on JT. Bitches love JT. Hashtag BOOM. And not in the way you think.

Show me how to ride that pony! But when the sun abandons you, everything seems darker and colder than before. Justice Drake is here!

I wish I had met you first. I would have found you eventually. Pick me. Choose me. View all 58 comments. I HAD to read it and find out what this man was all about.

I started reading, and right off the bat I liked this guy named Justice Drake. Because he was so damn honest that it was so refreshing and humourous, even.

Which is why I couldn't get enough about his thoughts. For once, I can just…breathe. I can just be. He teaches housewives of the rich and famous how to become the whores their husbands crave in the bedroom. He has a set of rules by which he lives by.

He has a reputation to uphold. But this all changes the moment he sees Allison Carr. He fights the attraction, oh, how he fights it. But he can't help but want to keep spending time with her and making the most of it. I have got to say that Mr. Drake was so freaking SEXY!! I loved him. I even loved him when he became a love sick fool. I just loved him!! He was so smoking hot, and so yummy. But he also had some big secrets about his life. I really liked her alot. Allison was funny, quirky, clumsy, had some attitude, was confident in her ideas yet self conscience with her body.

She could be very accepting but also judgmental because of the life she lives. These women are all about appearances, gossip, etc. So, it's no wonder a little bit of that has rubbed onto Ally. For the most part, she was a kind hearted character and down to earth. I really liked her and don't blame her at all for not being able to resist Mr.

McHottie Drake. She's not only affecting me, she's in fecting me. I will admit though, I did think this book was going to be more intense and dark. But instead, it was fun, steamy, and still very awesome. It did take a while for me to really connect with the characters, but the end I was glad I did. I mean I already liked Justice for making all those women so uncomfortable. I guess I'm a sick woman like he was because I really enjoyed all those scenes that shocked the housewives. I also was glad that Ally was not flawless, in fact, she was quite the opposite, which is what made her so relatable.

You're worth it. I'll gladly stay broken for you. In fact, I was so completely shocked! I had no idea that was the secret that Justice Drake was hiding. The ending was great but I did feel like it was missing something which is why it isn't a five star book to me. I needed an epilogue of something, but it was still very enjoyable.

I loved all the references to pop culture because it added to the realism of it, and again made you relate more to it. It was a great unique story. It wasn't at all what I expected, but it was still really awesome. And I love the cover! Which reminds me, I'd like to thank S.

Jennings for introducing me to my future hubby Hahaha!! View all 30 comments. Mar 20, Debra marked it as to-read Shelves: Release date: May 20th View all 9 comments. I wasn't sure what to expect. Justice Drake is a "Sex Coach", who owns the beautiful OASIS SPA, where rich socialites go to learn how to be a "whore" in the bedroom to please their husbands, who have become bored with them and in turn have been unfaithful.

This is their last shot at salvaging their marriages. Ally Elliot-Carr is one of these married socialites who has just arrived at Oasis. She is looking to save her marriage to her husband, Evan. Justice is almost instantly drawn to her. They end up spending a lot of time together and he's breaking all of his rules. He's never gotten involved with any of his clients and has been alone for so long but now, he finds himself wanting more. Wanting what he knows he can never have.

Meeting her was like seeing a sunrise after being trapped in a dull, grey room with no windows. It was that first bite of ice cream on a treacherously hot summer's day. Without her, all is drab. I felt like it took so long for Justice and Ally to get together but it was definitely very much worth the wait when it finally happened. I loved all the time they spent together eating ice cream and watching old episodes of "Friends". What made Justice so incredibly swoonworthy was how he seemed to adore everything about Ally, including her flaws.

He says some of the most incredibly romantic things, and I found myself highlighting so much of this book! What we have, what I feel for her, goes far beyond rational explanation. Even though I completely fell for Justice and I loved all the moments he and Ally shared, I gave this a four because of that "out from left field" reveal, and the lack of an epilogue.

I needed an epilogue and am disappointed that all we got was an excerpt from an article on "page six".

But Ally is another cheated little wife with an asshole of an husband and unfortunately his job his to turn their bad wedding into a sex-a-thon. And now that he wants someone for the first time, how will he turn her into the supposedly perfect little wife only to send her away to another man?

Well, one thing I can say: Taint was refreshing and original. The blurb got me from the beginning and I was not disappointed. Writing Style: First person, Male POV. Which is always a bonus! Sexy, funny and addictive. Character Development: And expectably so. It was sweet but fell very short. View all 17 comments.
