Please try again later. For anyone passionate about detailed musculoskeletal anatomy Hardcover Verified Purchase. Superb textbook, not only with respect to the depth and clarity of the writing, but also with regards to the amazing illustrations.
For anyone passionate about detailed musculoskeletal anatomy and mechanics, coupled with physical therapy and other clinical applications, this is an essential textbook for your library. I have been teaching musculoskeltal anatomy and biomechanics for the last 31 years, and this is the finest book on this specific subject I have seen.
Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. This book is a very technical book for the true learner. It really helps me understand the connection of the body from the cellular level all the way through the various body parts. I highly recommend it for the anatomy geek or those wanting to pursue PT.

Great book. I can use it with middle school students and also in graduate classes I'm taking. Absolutely excellent book, goes into great detail describing biomechanics and has clinical correlations for nearly everything. Also with really good online resources including 3D models, force vectors, cadaveric anatomy, and clinical videos.
It's great support in kinesiology. Great book but every few pages looks like it was printed for 3D viewing. Each chapter begins with an overview of relevant anatomy, and then proceeds to describe them in terms of specific and global function.
The hand chapter of this text fully addresses the difficulty of envisioning the mechanics behind this seemingly paradoxical function. The "clinical" offshoots present examples of kinesiology in a rehabilitative context, which are oodles of fun for aspiring rehab specialists. The last chapter "The Kinesio of Walking" describes the specific nuances of your foot, ankle, knee, and hip in each instance of the gait cycle, and is a dread to get through.
I wouldn't be too hard on yourself if you lightly skimmed over it to avoid the monotony. The text is clear and concise, the images and pictures are excellent and help provide a detailed understanding of the intricacies of the human anatomical structure.
If you are a trainer, strength coach or movement specialist, pull the trigger and invest in this book, you will not be sorry. One person found this helpful. Neumann, the author, did a wonderful job putting together a "student-friendly" textbook for those interested in rehabilitation and kinesiology.
I purchased this book for a graduate course. Though I didn't have a background in kinesiology, and this was my first introduction to the subject, I was able to follow the material. The understanding that I gained through this textbook and other study aids helped me to perform very well in my class. The book is easy to read, well illustrated and provides clinical applications.
Purchase this book. You will not be disappointed. This book is so helpful if you are having trouble grasping biomechanics. There is a lot more application of biomechanics and discussion of anatomical structures compared to books that draw lines and pivot points solely as a math problem and want you to extrapolate the rest. Great for clarifying key points of kinesiology. This text is a wonderful supplement to class time. A great purchase. What an excellent book. I bought this for DPT school and after reading it, I will definitely be keeping it as a resource for the rest of my career.
Highly recommend. Initially bought this book for PT school. It's quite substantial. Most definitely one of the books I do not plan to sell after I am done with the program. Would recommend.
