For every Hero there is a Villain. I was some what disappointed. You won't find any major villains or heroes in the book. Just a bunch of premade villains and heroes that you can use, in your stories. Which is fine but I found that the villains section far outweighed the heroes. So much so that I think a normally GM can almost ignore them completely. The villain's were so well done and thought out, the heroes just didn't have the same flair at all. Maybe we will get stats information or something in the Nation's books crosses fingers but if you are looking for villain stats don't look here, you won't find them.
Dani J December 13, They event had heroes and villain sheet for you to make one yourself. Well to each his own I guess. Patrick M December 15, 3: I think it was written well.
However, what this book was missing was ties to the world. I found that for the most part villains and heroes didn't have much setup that tied them to certain places. Almost like adventure seeds. Some might say that backgrounds already supplies this but I don't feel like if gives you enough information as a gamemaster to really just throw a villain or hero in. It would be nice if you knew what area the villain was in rather than, just throw them in wherever you feel like GM.
Some meta is good and I feel like 7th Sea is being dumbed down for the sake of people who don't care about a good story which is what drove 7th Sea first edition for me. Not to mention that non of these heroes or villains have ties to any famous heroes or villains from the storyline. Where's the pirate that sailed with Captain Reece? Where's the musketeer who served the king but turned on him? Where's the Sea Dog who has been cursed by the Fae?
None of these colorful character's are included in the See more book and instead we are given, cannon fodder.
If they would have found ways to tie these character's to A. Famous locations or B. Right now in it's condition, it's certainly fine. I just don't think it's a good as what it possibly could have been. It's an error and should have been a c. It's a silver coin from Central Europe, literally "of the valley". Cognate with Vale, Dale as in, Dalelands , and of course Dollar. Derek H October 04, 5: Omari B December 30, 6: Can you please update the PDF with some rudimentary bookmarks please?

On the other hand, preorders are open for the new printing of the boxed set. Derek H December 23, 2: Okay, good to know. It is such a great little book, just brimming with nifty ideas.

Chthonic Codex is a great resource to either add to any campaign, or to build your own campaign around it. I'm using the Chthonic Codex implied and explicit setting for my campaign for about three years now, and it works well. But this is not yo [ Cenate P. It's a campaign setting!
It's a bestiary! It's a whole new way to handle magic in your campaign setting! It's a low-calorie dessert topping! It's Chthonic Codex! Tore N.
The Chthonic Codex is a cornucopia of creativity. Too often magic in rpgs is presented in a very pragmatic and bland way, but in this book every spell has flavor and adventure hooks for magic-users of all stripes. A vast and vibrant setting is indicate [ An excellent source of strange creatures, weird spells, useful subclasses of magic-user and bizzare setting components.

Product Information. Copy Link Tweet This. Original electronic Scanned image These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.
The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable.
Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.
For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books.
Most newer books are in the original electronic format.
