But this book did not disappoint me at all. Din taciunii secretelor, pasiunea se aprinde mistuitoare. Nely Cab is the best-selling author of the Creatura series. To never feel another man's touch? Fruit of Misfortune by Nely Cab Genre:
Made her feel more realistic to me. There were times where I felt lost, as if I had missed something, but each time the answer came later on in the story. I'm a very impatient person. One thing I must say Because they're definitely in here. Speaking of feels I will need book three immediately so that I may continue reading this story, because I'm frustrated that I don't have it with me now.
Oct 26, Alisha Webster rated it really liked it. If you've read the first book which I'm hoping you have if you're reading this review , you know the first book leaves off on a huge cliffhanger.
I have wondered multiple times what happens but I didn't have a copy of this book! I'm glad I finally got the chance to read it after I grabbed a copy from the library No thanks to Judith from Platypire reviews, ya jerk: To my surprise, I enjoyed this book more than the first; I haven't had that happen in a long time. The new characters introduced If you've read the first book which I'm hoping you have if you're reading this review , you know the first book leaves off on a huge cliffhanger.
The new characters introduced in the story made a fantastic addition and sparked a new interested in me for it.
I really love the direction Nely Cab is taking the story. The fact Isis's condition is the kinda the main focus in this book may be the reason I liked it so much. From the first book it caught my attention and I'm glad it gave more of a peek into it. I really have grown to love these characters. That being said, I'm glad I don't have the third and final book in the series This is a great YA read and I'm looking forward to more from this author!
Apr 24, K. I made no secret about how much I loved Creatura and if I'm being honest, I was afraid that the second book-like many before it- would fall flat. I shouldn't have worried.
Fruit of Misfortune continues the story of the Creatura Isis and her greek god boyfriend, David, this time in Greece while they look for Isis' father and try to find answers before their transformation is complete and their death warrants are signed. The introduction of new characters creates new drama and intrigue for the pair, but don't discount the continuation of original character stories as well. All in all I couldn't put this book down until it was finished, and was blown away by Nely Cab's eye for detail.
Fruits of Misfortune is part two in the Creature series. And Nely Cab has done it again, by writing an awesome story that ends in a cliffhanger. I love the cover and how the story unfolds. I do however hate that I can't read the third book NOW! Thanks for another great read. This is how I imagine a perfect 2nd book of a series! Congrats Nely! Free falling Review to come. Just finished reading it and I thought it was really good, way better then the first book in the series.
Was kind of sad and surprised at how the book ended can't wait till the next book comes out! Jan 19, D. Fruit of Misfortune by Nely Cab Genre: Paranormal Romance Publisher: Clean Teen Publishing First Sentence: The monster was still submerged deep inside of me.
I read Ms. Unpredicted twists came to light and again Ms. Her characters stepped off the pages and totally took over my life. I highly recommend for paranormal, fantasy, and romance readers…although any romance reader would enjoy the Creatura Series. Mar 09, Crystal rated it really liked it. This is the second book in the Creatura series and book 1 Creatura needs to be read first. Isis has found out the truth about herself and what she really is.
Traveling with David to Greece, Isis sets out to locate her biological father and get information from him. While in Greece, Isis becomes gravely ill and needs treatment. Thi This is the second book in the Creatura series and book 1 Creatura needs to be read first. This story has sucked me in and kept me reading late.
My only issue was the maturity level of David. The writing is good, and I love the addition of some of the new characters. This This is the second book in the Creatura series and book 1 Creatura needs to be read first. Ummmm I really expected more from this book. I found myself dropping off wanting to read it and then need to skip and skim.
I did skim some but I didn't skip. It honestly didn't get good for me till Galilea entered the book. Fav character by far! Isis had me scratching my head quite a few times. Eros I'll save for book 3 review.
I'm starting book 3 now! I am so exited about reading it! My favorite character of the second one is Galilea!!! She is so damn good and awesome!
Did not like the end because I've been crying for David over and over again Hope to see a little bit of love between David and Isis on the prequel! Sep 27, Alexandra rated it it was amazing. Mar 07, Chebutiu Tunde rated it it was amazing. Because it's a very successful book. Jul 27, Nitu rated it it was amazing. Best book I have read ever Fruit of Misfortune is the second book in the Creatura series and picks up immediately after one heck of a cliff hanger, one that, as a reader, took my breath away and left me incredibly grateful that I already had the next installment on hand.
Isis has always been in control of her dreams, until one day her dreams reached out and took control of her.
We now know that her dream world is a very real place filled with very real people, all of whom have become pivotal to her journey, some more intimately than others. Now that her dreams are her new reality and Isis seems to be heading toward a variation of happily ever after, her nightmares begin to seep in.
With nowhere else to go, these terrors begin to soak deep into her ever changing world, infiltrating every facet of her life. What first begins as a slow trickle of misfortune soon blossoms into a growing and living force flooding everything that was, until it is no more.
Until she is no more. Cab does an impeccable job of weaving multiple realms and realities into one seamless story. Worlds that should not exist in the same plane make perfect sense in the universe she creates, its brilliance begging as to why it has never been done before. The relationships between each of the characters and the ensemble as a whole also hold that same charm.
They are all individually strong and independent in their own ways, but as they band together, even in their misfit ways, they create a force that has yet to be seen in full force. Everything is tested; everything is twisted, yet everything is found solid. The relationships explored in this book especially made my heart do extraordinary things.
It was made to stop, flutter and skip a beat all at once. The relationships in Creatura have always been of the complex variety, but in Fruit of Misfortune that complexity is increased ten-fold. I went from love to hate and back again more times that I can count, and as a result developed the most wonderfully confusing and intricate relationships with each one of the characters.
It bonded my experiences as a reader to their experiences to the point where I felt it was happening to me, in my world. To me, that is the mark of a great book, one that welcomes you in and invites you to stay. Fruit of Misfortune and the Creatura series as a whole is without a doubt a five star read. When the last page was turned, I felt that I had lost something much akin to a friend, but gained so much more imagination and insight.
This is not only an incredible read, it is an important one. It challenges the reader and moves them in the direction of change. Through her storytelling, her and her characters usher us out of misfortune and straight into hope. This is the second book in the Creatura series. Isis Martin is not a normal teen.
After finding out that she is a Creatura - a being created when an immortal and a human have children - Isis is determined to track down her father to find out what she is transforming into. I have been dying to read this book ever since I read Creatura, and went into shock after the cliffhanger at the end of the book my jaw literally dropped and I had to re-read the ending three times! It has been a l This is the second book in the Creatura series.
It has been a long wait, but it was SO worth it!
The story actually starts right where the last book ended and continues with Isis and David travelling to Greece to track down her father, S. I loved Isis when I met her in the first book. However, I did want to smack her a few times for the way she treated David on occasion in this book.
I don't think she appreciates or realises the depth of the sacrifice that David has made. That being said, she is madly in love with him. It was also wonderful to meet David's family again. The Chios clan are a formidable, but loving, bunch. There were also a few new characters added into the mix, but none more compelling than Eros.
Eros is also an immortal and David's best friend. He is very charming, and just like his name suggests, is the god of affection and desire. He too succumbs to Isis's charms, and I think he genuinely falls for her himself. The story is another emotional roller coaster ride; I shed more than one tear in places. However, there is a little less romance and more adventure, as the time ticks down to Isis's and David's transformation. I found myself hooked from the first page, and read the book in one sitting.
There are several twists and turns that kept me riveted, and one large one near the end that I did not see coming.
I am a little disappointed that there were none of David's poems in this story, but I suppose that there was too much going on for any. The end of the story does not finish in another shocking cliffhanger, but I am looking forward to reading the next book as soon as possible.
Nely Cab has written a fast paced YA series with a uniqueness I love; her imagination seems to know no bounds. I love her writing style and the story flowed wonderfully. She already is on my Favourite Authors list. I highly recommend this book if you love YA or Paranormal Romances. Normally if I know ahead of time I am going to have to deal with that kind of ending, I will put off a series until all the books are out. But, since I received Creatura as part of a giveaway and promised to give an honest review on it… I gave it a shot.
I posted my review for Creatura a few days ago http: I give you Fruit of Misfortune, book two in the Creatura series. This book picks up where book one left off. Isis and David are on a plane to Greece. The huge cliffhanger is explained and everyone goes about their lives… well, as best they can because the change is coming soon!
I really liked book one and, to be honest, I had reservations that book two might let me down a little. But not because it was bad, but because it was such a long time coming. But this book did not disappoint me at all. In fact, I could see some subtle improvements in the writing style and character development.
Isis is still herself…. David is still himself…. The introduction of some new characters adds a lot of intrigue and drama to the story as well.
The one thing that bothered me the most would be the confrontation between Isis and her father. Be prepared for another cliffhanger! I need book three… like yesterday. But I will just have to be patient like the rest of the world. Rest assured I will be stalking the author for news of book three.
You can see my whole blog post here: Apr 23, Rachel rated it really liked it. I started the Creatura series last year because it was a recommendation from booktuber I follow. I read the synopsis and realized it was about mythology and since I love stuff like that I gave it a go. I Creatura was really good and I knew I had to get the other books in the series as soon as they were released. Later on that year the second book in the Creatura series, Fruit of Misfortune came out and I got it right away, I was planning on reading it especially after I read the cliffhanger endi I started the Creatura series last year because it was a recommendation from booktuber I follow.
Later on that year the second book in the Creatura series, Fruit of Misfortune came out and I got it right away, I was planning on reading it especially after I read the cliffhanger ending from the first book but then I heard that Fruit of Misfortune had a cliffhanger ending that was heartbreaking and I held off until I was able to get the final book, Marker of Hope. Fruit of Misfortune was so good. We still dealing with mythology but now also some science behind the mythology and we are also dealing with prophecy and destines.
Isis is still the same girl she was in the first book. I always saw her as a real world girl that was dropped in a ya novel. She is impulsive, doesn't connect certain things, reckless, has a bad temper and she keeps making mistakes, she seems more like a real girl rather than a ya heroine.
As for David, we get to see a totally different side to his personality and it shows that he is far from perfect. Old and new characters join in this adventure and one of the character even though I don't like him makes some valid points when it comes to David and Isis relationship, which is on the rocks by the way.
He had made excuses to evade conversations with me. I had attributed his distancing to his heavy load of classes. I was dumbfounded. I examined every detail of the last three years wondering the reasons behind this sudden change.
I guess things happened for a reason, as my mother always told me. My mother had warned me not to get too serious and persuaded me to continue having friends. Gabriel consumed all my time and my friends slowly started to dissipate from my life at one point.
